| InTEROS
Supplies Solid Expertise in Supply Chain Logistics |
|
InTEROS partners with clients, acquiring
a deep understanding of an organization’s strategies
and objectives. Next, InTEROS creates a strategic operational
improvement roadmap process with a milestone-driven implementation
program. InTEROS’ knowledge of the economics driving
change also support a client’s strategic roadmap.
At every step, InTEROS guides clients in
considering alternatives and making strategic decisions prior
to supporting the actual implementation and post implementation
optimization.
Measurements are put into place at each critical
level to make certain that client goals are attained, as well
as further ensuring that the enterprise continues to optimize
for its future competitiveness.
InTEROS’ strategic planning process
consists of the following:
- Establishing objectives
and priorities,
- Defining functional and
operating requirements,
- Identifying, documenting
and modeling alternatives,
- Evaluating alternatives,
- Recommending a preferred
alternative,
- Developing an action
plan.
The InTEROS approach to analysis begins with
a precise understanding of the issue (what are the client’s
specific objectives; what does a client really need?) through
one-on-one client discussions and information gathering.
From that understanding, InTEROS identifies
a set of expected observations for current and future systems.
In turn, these observations help InTEROS formulate an analytic
approach and make maximum use of data collected.
Since InTEROS deals in many supply chain
environments (i.e. national, international, direct from vendor,
regional warehousing), each client’s solution is unique
-- no solution is ever exactly the same as another.
What differentiates InTEROS is
the ability to assess an existing supply chain from both
strategic and operational levels to define the analysis
requirements that lead to an effective improvement roadmap.
| Fresh
Thinking Yields Fresh, Effective Solutions |
|
When developing a specific supply chain optimization
strategy and alternative solutions, InTEROS may go through
multiple process modeling sessions until the required number
of alternatives are identified as truly being leverageable
in a specific client’s environment. This approach helps
identify missing expected data from which InTEROS formulates
collection requirements.
Key to the InTEROS consulting practice is
benchmarking alternatives against commercial and public sector
best practices and new technologies. InTEROS always considers
new technologies, strategies, processes, methods and tools
for producing a more cost effective and efficient supply chain
or logistical process for clients.
From this experienced-based approach, InTEROS
formalizes a strategic business process improvement roadmap
to improve operational performance and customer satisfaction.
For clients, benefits of the InTEROS approach are six-fold.
InTEROS will:
- Submit recommendations
and a plan based upon leading commercial and public sector
successes.
- Identify antiquated technologies
and process legacies.
- Recommend a streamlining
process flow, thereby improving operational timeliness as
well as organizational effectiveness.
- Create a cost-effective,
end-to-end supply chain for the client’s organization and potentially
for the client’s customers, too.
- Define productivity-enhancing
techniques that can be measured and continually improved.
- Support the
client’s
mission and strategic objectives through a custom supply
chain approach.
Since InTEROS’s 2005 inception,
the company has worked with clients in both public and
private sectors, leveraging lessons learned in both areas
to help other clients.
| InTEROS’ Milestone-Driven
Implementation Process is Uniquely Successful |
|
The InTEROS plan for accomplishing client
tasks is simple. First, InTEROS gains an understanding of the
client’s mission and strategic goals and objectives along
with its current procedures, requirements and constraints,
performing this discovery and fact-finding process with the
client.
Building on the client’s current foundation,
InTEROS recommends an optimal strategy from various alternative
points of view, creating a detailed plan of improvement that
includes organizational as well as process and supporting technology
improvements.
When a client’s strategic supply chain
objectives are not clear or do not fully support the organization’s
high level strategy, the InTEROS team—working with the
client—develops an aligned supply chain strategy that
can be benchmarked against commercial and public sector best
practices.
Next, the InTEROS team creates an implementation
plan (timelines) that addresses objectives and needed change
management. This plan includes details with regard to, but
not limited to:
- Organizational structure and resource
requirements,
- Roles and responsibilities,
- New processes,
- Facilities,
- Space,
- Equipment,
- Vehicles,
- Labor,
- Information systems,
- Implementation,
- Installation,
- Training, and
- Post-install management and improvement.
The strategic roadmap serves as a guide to
help clients see their future with improved operational processes.
It also helps them develop the right implementation plan, addressing
objectives and enhancing management decisions for the future.
Implementation includes:
- Defining the implementation schedule,
- Defining the roles and responsibilities
of everyone on the implementation team,
- Establishing a communications plan,
- Installation,
- Debugging and correcting operations,
- Training, and
- Auditing results to ensure compliance.
InTEROS implementation
plans address key milestones and incorporate timing versus resources versus greatest
impact.
| Ensuring
the Quality of InTEROS Services |
|
Each client’s project is assigned an
experienced InTEROS project leader who ultimately is responsible
for monitoring and ensuring the quality of services and products.
That’s why we assign very experienced personnel to this
key position. This leader makes certain that all of a client’s
needs are met relative to mission, schedule and cost, ensuring
that all contractual obligations are met.
All InTEROS personnel are dedicated to achieving
the successful completion of a project. Each InTEROS project
and program manager not only has access to company principals,
but also is required to keep company management informed of
contract status, including milestones, accomplishments and
issues as well as budget.
InTEROS produces a plan for customer approval
identifying milestones for each assigned task, outlining how
each task will be addressed and when each will be complete.
InTEROS submits a draft of each completed task for approval.
Periodic team meetings are held with the client to review a
project’s progress, both in terms of product and cost/schedule.
InTEROS has a long, mature relationship with
the supply chain and logistics community, attracting and retaining
experienced candidates with backgrounds in virtually all supply
chain disciplines—all with leverageable commercial best
practices expertise. This includes professionals such as management
consultants, program managers, operations managers, project
leaders and logistics business analysts.
International Supply Chain Experts are Vital
to the InTEROS Team
Many members of the InTEROS team also have
extensive international supply chain experience which is important
since so many client operations extend past US borders. InTEROS
also has a very active subcontractor network of IT and software
engineers as well as various technical and subject matter experts
to complement those skills outside our core competencies.
