InTEROS Solutions named as Subcontractor to Kairos on COMFISC Contract
Small business furthers global presence with new supply chain contract
McLean, VA (October. 27, 2008) – InTEROS has signed a subcontractor agreement with Kairos in support of a management services and business transformation contract awarded by The Commander Fleet and Industrial Supply Centers (COMFISCS) earlier this year.  The role of InTEROS is to bring its understanding of best practices for naval and commercial supply chain logistics and Program Management Office (PMO) support to the COMFISCS as the agency works with the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) to transition the execution of its logistics services.

The management support services, designed to facilitate the business transformation objectives of the Naval Supply Systems Command, include:

  • support of the DLA assumption of warehousing activities and future COMFISC activity concept of operations development;
  • analysis of the current warehousing activities for effective and efficient processes in support of the customer;
  • implementation strategies and plans, and
  • implementation management and communication support.

InTEROS’s work will help the Navy reduce overhead, streamline processes, substitute manpower with proven technology and create incentives for positive change.  Legacy systems and platforms no longer integral to mission accomplishment will be retired, and the business processes will be made more efficient to achieve enhanced war fighting effectiveness in the most cost-effective manner.

“Facilitating this transformation of the COMFISCS will continue the work we’re doing with the DoD to aid in the streamlining of operations and increasing cost-effectiveness.” said Jennifer Bisceglie, InTEROS president.

InTEROS will provide NAVSUP services in Sigonella, Italy; Norfolk, Va.; Jacksonville, Fla.; San Diego; Puget Sound, Wash.; Pearl Harbor, Hawaii; Yokosuka, Japan, and at Naval Supply Systems headquarters in Mechanicsburg, Pa.
